Kumikaho OSHIMA was born in 1986 in Tokyo. Her works mainly represent Barbies and USDollars. Kumikaho OSHIMA aims to illustrate the condition of Japanese women of the 21st century. It aspires towards a revolution of the morals in Japan , which are still strongly marked by traditionnal hierarchy (both symbols of Barbies & USDollar). Her work is subtle with limited colors, quite energy unfolding tremendous sensuality and emotion. The Japanese womens are depicted as « ideal » womens threw barbie representation. Everything is carefully considered and depicted in detail . She first focuses on the concept of her works before painting it and the clearer her initial vision is, the smoother her creative process becomes. Kumikaho OSHIMA is definitely an artist of the rising generation of Japanese art .
